The Student's Council of Maharaja Agrasen College is a group of passionate students working towards the excellence of the college and developing their leadership skills. The council, under the guidance of convenor, Dr. T.N. Ojha consists of extremely dedicated and dynamic students and teachers. Teachers Day Celebration
In order to show their dedication towards their teachers, the Students' Council celebrated Teachers' Day with great enthusiasm. It was the first event organized by the Council this year. The students organized a fun-filled function for the teachers in order to honour them and it was followed by lunch. The lunch was served in traditional Indian style, highlighting the guru-shishya tradition in Indian culture. The Council also recognized and celebrated Hindi Diwas, with assistance from the Department of Hindi in the month of September.
FYUP Workshop
In October, the council conducted a workshop on the Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUP) Foundation Courses on 5th and 6th October 2013. Prof. Umesh Rai, Director, South Campus , University of Delhi inaugurated this event. The workshop put focus on introducing students to the newly added Foundation Courses offerred by the University of Delhi. Many eminent teachers from various colleges and fields came to talk to the students about the courses and also addressed their doubts regarding the same. This workshop indeed proved to be beneficial for the students under the FYUP. Towads the end of the month, the council also organized an inter- college Debate Competion. The competition invited students to come and speak on topic, that was centered around whether technology is a boon or a bane to humanity ( Topic : This House Believes that Technology is Making us Less Human ). The event received massive participation and was conducted very well and became a grand success.
Workshops & Competitions
Under the Honest MAC initiative, the Students' Council also organized a No Cheating Test for the first year students of the college in the month of November so as to advocate honesty among the students while taking exams. The Neuro-Linguistics Workshop followed the Honest Mac initiative. It focused on concentrationbuilding and time-management. The students were also given vital tips about methods to channelize their energies and focus on one goal.
National Student Academic Congress 2014
National Student Academic Congress 2014 (NSAC ? 2014) became the highlight event of the college. It was probably also the most important event organized by the Students' Council. Conducted on 6th and 7th February 2014, the Academic Congress scaled greater heights this year by going to the national level. Abstracts and research papers were accepted by the college from across the country. Students at school level as well as Ph.D scholars were welcome to present their papers on the theme, The Power of Ethics. The occasion was graced by Prof. Sudhish Pachauri, Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi. The Valedictory Session was chaired by M.M Chaturvedi, Director, Clusters Innovation Center, University of Delhi.
The academic year, 2013-2014 was definitely eventful for the Students' Council and it hopes to organize many more such events in the next academic session as well.
