NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces. Its headquarter is situated in New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students voluntarily as a Tri-Services Organization, encompassing the Army, the Navy, and the Air Wing. It aims to refine the youth of the country into disciplined and consecrated citizens. NCC's motto is Unity and Discipline, which focuses on developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, qualified, and motivated students with leadership qualities in all walks of life. It believes these students will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose.

NCC IN MAHARAJA AGRASEN COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF DELHI

Maharaja Agrasen College got the raising for Girls NCC (Army Wing) under 2 Delhi Girls Battalion, Rohini and Sector 18. Henceforth, started its very first batch of Girls NCC in the Academic Session of 2020-21. The NCC Troop allotted to the college was 1Coy (Company) with 160 strength.

AIMS -

The institution has always believed in empowering the youth, and so we look forward to this new opportunity in the same direction. It likewise intends to shape young minds by training the cadets for overall personality development and equip them mentally to face any trials and develop leadership qualities. We hope to instill in the cadets a sense of loyalty and allegiance towards the country and stimulate in them a zeal to take up a career in the Armed and Security Forces in the future.

Our mission is furthermore inclusive and multidirectional, as we covet to incorporate in our cadets' awareness regarding social, cultural, and environmental issues. We look forward to preparing them for unforeseen natural calamities via Camp Training and Adventure-based Learning. We also want to cultivate sensitization regarding personal hygiene and the environment around them via measures of Social Services and Community Development.
